Review: An Active Spot Overlooked by Many: Hollywood Beach & Boardwalk

I haven’t been to Hollywood Beach for almost 8 years and I don’t know why I don’t go more often. This is a great place for tourists who are looking for a vacation spot that is more low-key.
Hollywood Beach is known for its boardwalk. According to Hollywood Beach’s website, the boardwalk is 2.5 miles long and there is 7 miles of beach. The boardwalk also has a paved jogging and biking path with eco-friendly lighting.
There are dozens of restaurants along the strip that include unique Turkish, Armenian, Greek, Italian, and Mexican dishes. Ice cream shops, souvenir shops, and plenty of bars offering happy hour are also everywhere.
There are three parks featuring playgrounds, play fountains, picnic pavilions, and restrooms. There are scooter and bike rentals, as well as water sport rentals. Beach volleyball courts are spotted along the beach. The beach itself has a decent stretch of sand compared to Fort Lauderdale beach and its ongoing erosion problem.  For 10 consecutive years Hollywood Beach has been dubbed a Blue Wave Certified Clean Beach by the Clean Beaches Council.
There is a mix of hotels, motels, and condos with swimming pools along the strip. For more entertainment, there are free outdoor concerts at the Hollywood Beach Theatre. This is one of the more populated beaches in Broward County.
A Margaritaville Beach Resort is coming soon. Restorations to older buildings are always in the works. With already so much to do and so much history since the 1920s, Hollywood Beach continues to grow and maintain itself.

Summary:
-Parking: Cash/credit card meter parking ($2/hour) or parking garage option
-Things to do: Bike/scooter rentals, water sports, playgrounds, volleyball, Hollywood Beach Theatre, Charnow Park Community Center
-Restaurants: Plenty of restaurants (from pizza shops to fine dining)
-Lifeguards: Yes throughout the beach
-Showers/Restrooms?: Yes

Here's a quick walk-through video I made of Hollywood boardwalk:
